Colour Darkroom Printing - Saturday 17 October 2026

Learn how to print stunning colour prints (C-Type) using your colour negatives. This course is suitable for colour printing beginners and is a great refresher for those who haven't used the colour darkroom for a while. Colour printing is an advanced technique compared to black-and-white printing; therefore, we encourage attendees to have some basic black-and-white printing experience beforehand.

Please bring a selection of 35mm or 120 roll-film colour negatives that have been exposed in daylight (not under artificial light), preferably some with neutral tones, such as tarmac and concrete. You will achieve a better print when working with well-exposed negatives. You don't need to source darkroom paper for the session; Photofusion will supply Fuji Crystal Archive Paper.

The course will cover:

• How to use Yellow, Magenta & Cyan filtration

• How to assess and correct colour casts

• Adjusting exposure time according to filtration

• Working with a Colenta RA4 paper processor

Please note, this session only covers printing from processed negatives; do not bring unprocessed film.
