Technical FAQ
Push & Pull Explained
Pushing (+1, +2 Stops): If you underexposed your film (e.g. shooting 400 film as if it were 1600), we leave it in the developer for longer. This "over-cooks" the film to bring out more detail, resulting in higher contrast and a grittier, grainier look.
Pulling (-1 Stop): If you overexposed your film (e.g. shooting 400 film as if it were100), we cut the development time short.
This "under-cooks" the film to stop the bright areas from becoming too thick, resulting in a flatter, softer look with more detail in the shadows.
Important: You must have decided to push or pull the film when you shot it. Please mark the adjustment (+1, -1, etc.) on your film canister and select the same option on your order form.
Understanding "Fogged" & Exposed Film
Fogging occurs when unwanted light, heat, or age affects the film's chemistry, creating a "haze" over your images.
Light Exposure: Film is incredibly sensitive. If a roll is accidentally exposed to light outside of the camera-such as the back being opened mid-roll or the film being pulled out of the canister-the images will almost certainly be destroyed. This usually results in a completely black or orange "blank" negative.
Heat & Age Fogging: If film is very old or stored in a hot environment, the chemical layers become unstable. This creates a "foggy" negative with muddy colours and heavy grain.
Blank or Fogged Film Policy: If your film is blank (unexposed) or severely fogged, we will only charge for the Process Only fee. We will automatically refund the scanning portion of your order back to your original payment method.

Ordering
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
Formats: 35mm, 120 for process and scan, 5x4 we offer process only. We do not process 110 or 127 rolls.
Black & White: We hand process all of our black & white film in house.
Colour (C41): We also hand process all of our C41 in house. We do not offer rush processing.
E6 Film: Cross-processing (into C41) only. No extra charge. Make sure to add to “Notes” section if you want cross-processing.
- Film Soup: We strictly do not process "souped" or soaked film as it contaminates our hand-processing chemistry.
- Half-Frame: No extra scan charge. 6x4" prints require a "Double Set" payment (£14/£10).
